Quick start
PhosQ keeps the teacher workflow short so you can focus on the lesson.
Pin the PhosQ extension in Chrome and open it from the toolbar.
Drag in a text-rich PowerPoint .pptx, Word .docx, PDF .pdf, or text .txt file up to 300 MB. PhosQ reads the file locally, sends only the extracted lesson text securely to its server, and creates clear multiple-choice questions after server-side checks.
Project the new QR code. Students scan it, receive a generated classroom username, and start without an account.
Scores and confidence percentages update on the teacher screen as students submit.
In Google Slides, choose File → Download → Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx), then add the downloaded file to PhosQ.
In Google Docs, choose File → Download → Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF Document (.pdf), then add it to PhosQ.
Open the school file while signed in, choose Download, and add the downloaded .pptx, .docx, .pdf, or .txt file to PhosQ. PhosQ does not request access to the school account.
Troubleshooting
Choose what is happening in your class and follow the short steps.
Make sure the file ends in .pptx, .docx, .pdf, or .txt and is no larger than 300 MB. Close the file in its original app, then try dragging it into PhosQ again.
Use a file with more typed lesson content. PhosQ reads selectable text, so files made mostly from photos, scans, videos, or very short headings may not contain enough information. Scanned PDFs need optical character recognition (OCR) before PhosQ can read them.
PhosQ creates straightforward questions about the information in the uploaded file. Correct answers and answer choices come from the file, while incomplete text fragments are removed. Every graded question is multiple choice. PhosQ does not create fill-in-the-blank questions or ask students where a fact appeared in a slide, page, or document.
Keep PhosQ open while it builds the quiz. If it appears stuck, check that your device is connected to the internet, close PhosQ, reopen it, and add the lesson file again.
Ask students to check their internet connection and scan the code again with their phone or tablet camera. Make the QR code large and bright on the classroom screen. If it still does not open, create a new quiz and share its new QR code.
Have the student scan the same QR code again. They can use the generated username shown on the new screen and restart their quiz. A quiz is recorded only after it is submitted.
Confirm that the student reached the final results screen. Their response appears only after they answer all graded questions, choose a confidence response, and submit. Ask them to submit again if they left the page too early.
Keep PhosQ open while students submit. Results check for updates every few seconds. If a result does not appear, select Refresh results, check the teacher device’s internet connection, then close and reopen PhosQ if needed.
The chart includes only students who have submitted the full quiz and confidence reflection. Wait for the remaining students to finish. The percentages update as each completed response arrives.
This is expected. Every student receives the number of questions you selected from the same class question pool. The questions may differ, but they apply concepts from the same lesson material and move from easier to more challenging.
Before starting, the student can tap the refresh button beside the generated username to receive another classroom-safe name. Students cannot type or use their real name.
PhosQ quizzes expire 30 days after they are created. Create a new quiz from the lesson material and share its new QR code. Expired quiz records are removed automatically.
Open the current quiz in PhosQ and select Delete quiz data below the results. Confirm the message to permanently remove the quiz, its answer key, and all student responses. This cannot be undone.
Good to know
Students are graded only on the lesson questions. Their confidence choice helps the teacher understand whether the class gets it, needs a little review, or needs more support.
Quiz records expire after 30 days. Read PhosQ’s Privacy Policy for the complete data summary.
